Mysterio ate at Joyful Paradise Mala Xiang Guo.
Mala Xiang Guo can be found easily wherever you go, but is this stall worth it for you to queue and try it? Mysterio is here to help.
Mysterio ordered the following ingredients for Mala:
Beansprouts
Sweet potato noodle
Potatoes
Tau pok
Quail eggs
Oyster mushrooms
Black fungus
Sliced chicken meat
Sliced pork belly
Maggie mee
What is recommended:
For this stall, Mysterio most recommended are Pork Belly and Sweet Potato Noodle. As pork belly with a bit of fats on the meat just hits differently, the "Shiokness" from it is another level. As for the sweet potato noodle, the chewiness texture from it give you a satisfying sensation paired with the Mala and numbness, its so gooooooood.
*Side note to this: Mala Xiang Guo for this stall used quite a lot of chilli oil, thus when you consume it, give it a good mix again for all the goodness to come up.
Taste:
Mysterio order Medium spiciness (中辣)was ordered and the spiciness for this stall is on the lesser side if compared to other Mala stall Mysterio had tried. If you are trying Mala Xiang Guo for the first time and cant take spiciness very well, it is recommended to try less spicy (Xiao La). Moving on, in terms of numbness, there is very little numbness for this stall and a layer of chilli oil can be found at the bottom of the dish.
Verdict:
Mysterio rated it 4/5 Stars.
Overall, joyful paradise mala xiang guo is good, but there are some points that lead to it missing the 1 star. The spiciness of this stall is on the low side as well as the numbness from this Mala Xiang Guo is also very little. However, the Mala taste is still noteworthy and definitely worth it. In addition, they cook up your Mala rather quicky, so there is only a short waiting time.
