Mysterio tried Mala Xiang Guo in Choa Chu Kang
Mala Xiang Guo was a recent hit in Singapore and lots of stall are opening up Mala Xiang Guo around that it is harder to find new and good ones. So today, Mysterio will review this Mala Stall in Choa Chua Kang, Keat Hong Mirage.
At every Mala Xiang Guo, you will be spoilt for choices and the mere variety of food is amazing. So let Mysterio present to you what was ordered and what is good too.
What Mysterio ordered:
Mysterio order medium spiciness (中辣）with the following ingredients:
- Beansprouts
- Tau Pok
- Tau Kee (Beancurd skin) [Recommended to order]
- Black Fungus
- King Oyster Mushroom
- Potato
- Pork Belly [Recommended to order]
- Chicken
- Quail Eggs
- Maggie Mee [Recommended to order]

What is recommended:
Mysterio best recommendation is Maggie Mee. This is because the mala will linger on the noodle give you extra kick should it be insufficient, the "Shiokness" from it is another level. Next ingredient on the list Pork Belly. The fats on the meat just hits differently. The last item that won't go wrong whenever you order Mala Xiang Guo is none other than Tau Kee AKA beancurd skin. Tau Kee will absorb all the mala juice and every bite is much more intense.
*Side note to this: Mala Xiang Guo is quite sinful food considering the fact that quite a lot of chili oil is used.
Flavor:
A good Mala Xiang Guo of course must have good taste as well. This Mala stall at Keat Hong Mirage have sufficient wok hey to give the ingredients a nice flavor to it, making it pleasant and delicious. Medium spiciness (中辣）was ordered and the spiciness for this stall is on the lesser side if compared to other Mala stall Mysterio had tired. If you are trying Mala Xiang Guo for the first time and cant take spiciness very well, it is recommended to try less spicy (Xiao La). Moving on, in terms of numbness, there is very little numbness for this stall.
Cost:
For the ingredients that Mysterio ordered, it amounts to $15.6 with a weight of roughly 700+ grams. Do take note that for this stall, the ingredients isnt separated when tabulating the cost, which meant that the meat and vegetables are priced the same.
